being low stress and not worrying about things does lead to better physical health

It's still contrived. It's a substanceless talking point that is intended to garner support from the well-intentioned.

One could also reduce internal stress by embracing sociopathic tendencies.

that's an interesting point. a sociopath probably thinks he or she is right so has no stress. has no ulcers or high blood pressure that might come from stress. I don't think leftists are sociopaths tho, they want to improve the world, and get worried about all the problems. I too worry about the economy, wars, climate change possibly being real, etc. I worry about not having a family. But I also have a glass half full and sit and think about all the good things in the world and my money and properties and that helps me stay grounded. I'm not totally stress free but I don't think I have mental illnesses which this survey talks about.

The point i'm making is that low stress and improved health does not always equate to improved outcomes.

Enduring stress in an effort for the improved outcomes of others; is an honorable decision.

Alleviation of stress for selfish reasons should not be considered honorable.

THE TITLE OF THIS ARTICLE AND THE PROMINENT POSITION ON THE SITE SERVES THE INTERESTS OF SHILLS WHO WOULD LIKE TO DISCOURAGE REDDITORS FROM JOINING THE COMMUNITY.

17 insightful votes and 16 funny votes is bit high for such a low-grade submission.

Has anyone else noticed a pattern?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

Yeah, a pattern is there. And a lot of it is from based posters.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

I suspect otherwise.

The shills are here to discourage Redditors from joining a site that isn't controlled by their Masters.

Their Masters can't control the message or narrative, so they are attempting to smear the site instead with absurd posts that are upvoted by sock puppets servants.

Many of the votes are probably real, but the title is click bait for those who recognize some of the failings of the current "left".

The story has little or no substance, and is predicated on surveys. Survey questions can be manipulated to generate a preferred outcome. It's amateurish.

Yep! Precisely what I meant by: based posters :)

Couldn't agree more. There are many around!

"something that says leftists have mental issues" = "it is trying to discourage redditors from joining saidit"? What is the correlation. Because most of reddit is leftist? I would posit they are not, the r/politics and other subs are heavily censored and rwers either joined the quarantined r/donald or left to other sites such as voat. They might hence also come to saidit. This guy that made the thread could be one of them, this info probably also got posted onto r/donald and/or voat. If a leftist tho sees this and decides to not make a username on saidit, well fine, they can be a snowflake. I'd rather try to argue against this with facts. Or accept that it is likely true but try to explain why that may be. One example being that in order to have depression, you must have higher IQ and empathy, because otherwise you don't get stressed much, a sociopath thinks he is perfect and hence does not seek out mental health help and then never gets recorded in these statistics. My main point is it is a fallacy to automatically assume this is shill work made to hurt redditors.

Its not an "automatic assumption". It is pattern recognition of the contextual situation at play through observation over a set period, parallel to the developing body politics. Your argument isn't invalid and if it was an isolated incident there would be more applicability. But there are various accounts that purposefully post biased or limited content to inflame simple minded debates and may even be bots since they never comment themselves, or have copy-pasta. Observe the situation and study it for yourself first.

it does in general. A good book on this is "Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers"

*blocks your path.

Nice talking point you have there Tom, would be a shame to see something happen to it. ;)

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

UNBLOCKS PATH!

I don't know why people like you practice these illegal blocking maneuvers. Never clog the tubes of the internet! :o

[–]Zahn 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

That was a perfectly valid blocking maneuver! But you're right, I'm agitating Tom to the point he found the CAPS LOCK key again...and the BOLD FORMATTING Nooooo.
