Hearing the audio I think he says minorities (not exactly black)

You're right. This poster obviously has a misguided agenda, but nothing Bloomberg said is racist whatsoever. The areas where the vast majority of these crimes are committed must be where police target. That the profile of those committing 90%—95% of violent crimes in our cities is men of a certain age group, who also incidentally happen to be black men, does not mean they're targets of racism. They're law enforcement priority targets for clear and well-documented reasons apart from their race, and the police would not be doing their job if they avoided interventions and arrests to appease irrational racist sensitivities.

Pandering to the race-baiting, virtue signalling agenda is totally out of control in American society and is hurting the country and the black race.

It's become so ridiculous its bordering on bizarre.

Not saying I agree with the assertion as I lack data on wheater or nor minorities areas represent 90%+ of the crime, but it's reasonable to deploy police where they are needed the most, and it's for the benefit of those communities.

Edit: Almost forgot, I agree with the whole race baiting, it sells and it goes to people's fears therefore getting their attention.

...it's murica, they always look bizarre to me.

In the nation as a whole with a black population of only 13%, they commit the majority of violent crimes (usually up in the 50th-60th percentile range). In cities, where their percentage of the population is much higher, their share of violent crime is also much higher.

In the city I live (not among the largest dozen), the black population is around 25%. A few years ago a look at homicides in which the suspect's race was known revealed about 90% of assailants were black. 25% is a relatively low percentage compared to many cities, so larger cities and cities with a higher black population are going to be higher — so that 95% approximation certainly seems realistic.

As a former mayor of New York City responsible for reducing crime there we can assume that's not a random number he just made up. In St Louis in 2017, for instance, 99% percent of murder suspects were black.
