That's a good question.

I've never heard of this fella, and now he's supposed to be a role model about something?

Also, the "woke" spectrum is too wide to reasonably characterize. It means many different things to many different people.

This article is unnecessarially devisive.

He's free to date or reject whomever he likes, so there's nothing to be gained from taking this position.
