Democracy will collapse when the voters discover they can vote themselves money from the public treasury.

UBI sounds awesome, but the market would balance itself rendering the free money worthless in a couple years.

Short term gain. Long term suffering.

The value of the dollar would slowly decrease until stuff evened out.

That's not even mentioning the huge tax issues associated with this.

Imagine spending $10 on a piece of candy because $10 is now worthy $1. My numbers are probably off by a mile, but the difference will still be felt.
