You know this is debunked. I blame realestate developers and greedy lenders. Way more Republicans here. The rights whole game is deregulation starve it before it breaths. That is this city's real problem. Plenty of blame but mostly the deregulation of the banks. You know this you can stop gas lighting the rest of us.

You joking bro? The Republicans have no meaningful input on the government of San Francisco. None. The city has been in the hands of the Democrats for the past half century.

San Francisco's leftwing interest groups refuse to let more housing be built. A property owner spent nearly 5 years and $1.4 million trying to convert his laundromat into new housing in San Francisco's Mission district, only to be stymied by far-left interest groups at every turn. A short video documenting his experiences: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExgxwKnH8y4

The free market would build more housing if regulators would let it. In California, they refuse to.

The fact is money was flowing on very pumped appraisals everywhere. Creating a bubble that broke. This only happened because of deregulation. Oh and greed. I get your point but really if my home goes from a hundred k to a million in two years. there is the truth you seek. Politicians in the city had Jack to do with the root cause. Deregulation of lending. Filthy rich cause this problem nothing else.

If a free market existed, there would be no housing shortage. But the far left government of SF won't let that happen.

Nonsense I'm right on this. You are throwing stones. Profits are the problem with building in San Fran. Can't build a affordable house because you simply cannot build simple apartments housing because the land has been inflated past reality. It is a lender problem. Public banks are just one solution. To the stupid, along with not taking on more debt to solve the problem you can't build no bank will lend unless your upscale and wealthy they can't build to fix homeless because the banks wont. You ever build a home in sanfran? Bernie has the plan that goes a long way to fixing this Bubble check out his housing plan. Over at his site big read but if should put your mind to rest. Always follow he money! Not the politics. Trump taught us this. The money says no. That needs to end.
