There's never going to be a trial. Maybe the plan is to campaign on electing Democrats so they can get a "fair" trial in the Senate in two years.

Technically i believe he is still impeached regarded if the trial date. This, If for example in a year or even 3 years when DT is re-elected, they could in theory move on this, if there were sufficient senators who would vote to remove him.

the constitution asks for an impartial senate trial. mcconnell & co are dead set against it, she's just following the constitution. perhaps in the future don't go on national tv and broadcast your plot to run a kangaroo senate trial.
