He is right. China is not a dictatorship. A dictatorship suggests one, all powerful ruler. But China has Xi Jinping and he is twice the Winnie the Pooh that Winnie the Pooh is.

Some would also broaden the definition of dictatorship as being a handful of people or an organization having absolute rule, which the CCP would fit. I doubt Michael is defending the word's definition moreso than being bribed by China.

The party under Xi Jinping is absolutely a dictatorship. There are no remaining significant political rivals to Xi. His most significant critic, Bo Xilai, was arrested for corruption charges and expelled from the party in 2002, allegedly under Xi's direction, and all party members allied to Bo have been stripped of their role and/or silenced.
