I just hate when they make you buy THEIR super obscure text that's not been seen anywhere else in the world lol, no pdf usually. Looking at you math prof.

I've heard of this a lot, but never encountered in in undergrad. I even had a professor write a free text for the course as we took it.

Is it more common in certain fields? I focused on math & physics.
