Was it not enough for them to falsely take down the github repo, now they're going after the website which doesn't even host any code? The greedy copyright monopolists have way too much influence in the courts.

Also FYI there is a newer fork of youtube-dl called yt-dlp with a lot of fixes and way more supported sites, along with a GUI frontend: yt-dlg.

YouTube/Google would probably like to do away with these services, since they lose advertising revenue. (Videos downloaded are mostly ad-free.)

And the world rulers that make propaganda to control the masses are not happy for people to be free from their "advertising".
