This is the Pyramid of Debate, and it's the core value of saidit and is the basis of administration. We here at saidit value people who raise discussions upward on the pyramid of debate, and aren't too keen on people who repeatedly drag discussion downward.

I'm just posting this because the old link of this pyramid image has an broken image because of outdated hosting, so this is a new one. :)

I think structured/logical debate, such as using the debate pyramid, could really set Saidit apart. I see a lot of posting, but don't see a lot of structured debate yet. I think many people really just don't know how to debate or communicate as online discussions often get dragged down to the bottom. I'll float an idea of how people may be able to learn, again just an idea: Use the debate pyramid categories as a voting system.

I like that! It's easier to criticize than to code, but I'd like more voating/like options. And changing "funny" to "fun" would be a simpler broader concept that includes all entertainment.

Glad you like it. My comment was not meant as criticism, simply an idea to promote better debate and communication. I like that Saidit has a focus toward people being positive to each other rather than negative.

I think it can be abused, which means that leftists would abuse it.

People who abuse it can also be removed, regardless of left or right.
