There was a lot of light pollution, I'm in the city. That's a much better picture.

Yeah, and it keeps getting worse. We still get nice views when we go camping, but this time of the year is too damn hot. We'll camp in zero degree weather happily, but when the highs are in the mid 90s everyone just gets cranky and miserable.

Cities are awful these days. Growing up, we still saw plenty of stars at night, albeit with a faint orange glow of streetlights. Summer can be uncomfortable, the coastline is nice for the evening breeze, and you still get to see a pretty sky if you are a few miles off from the nearest town.
