Have enough gasoline to blow it waiting in line, but not enough to buy bread?

Would seem so. Though this is at a food bank, so presumably they are giving a lot more than just bread to each family.

They could just have the food delivered. It seems like the purpose of the breadlines is to occupy everyone's time so they don't get any ideas about doing something.

The food bank probably doesn't have the resources to do deliveries.

Free turkey, no wonder so many people were in line.

That's nuts. I bought a 23 pounder for $7 last week (special requiring the spending of only $35 on other things). This looks like a below minimum wage level of return of investment of time.

That's true. I hope maybe they were just bored enough to sit un a car for 6 hours then and really wanted free shit. I don't want to think that many people are that financially fucked here in Texas to need it.

We just got smoked turkey from a bbq place, nobody likes turkey all that much in my family to cook a whole bird.
