Neat illusion, but why does it work?

My guess is that it relies on your color sensing retina cells getting "tired". Like if you have ever stared at a saturated color for a while then looked away then you see an afterimage of the opposite color. Staying looking at the color sort of cancells it out.

I couldn't help but look at it from a few different angles for a little while at first to make sure it wasn't just a jokey gif that fades to white, but it actually does what it claims pretty well. Neat!

You're less suspicious than me. I was wary of a jump scare.

The game has 2 endings, one where good prevails and everything turns white, another where evil prevails and everything turns black. Did anyone else beat it? At first I got stuck at 80%, but then I realized I had to move my head toward the screen. If you still have trouble: you can unlock a cheat by setting your screen contrast to 100%.

I stared at it and nothing happened. I thought it was a funny troll until people commenting believed it worked. Maybe it only works for certain people.

We could make this a voting test, if you see it disappear maybe you shouldn't vote.
