The Swastika is one of the oldest symbols in history. It has been associated with the sun many times, but it has several different spiritual meanings.

i went to a jain shrine once, they had a giant swastika painted above the altar

also the north star, see how there is a star in the middle here, other stars spin around it, or appear to as the earth spins "lucky star will guide you"
