Nah. As an American, nobody really cares. It's not that we dislike you. It's that we just don't care. The opposite of love isn't hate. The opposite of love is indifference.

Most Europeans are not properly educated on how much they depend on the US. The US is almost exclusively depicted in a negative way and blamed for stuff, while the US is almost never depicted in a positive way and given its due credit. A lot of Europeans directly link their view of their own individual countries and the EU/Europe as a whole to their view of the US as a point of contrast. Because they see things along those lines, and because they want to depict themselves as being superior to the US, they must as a matter of necessity see the US in an unrealistically negative way. Acknowledging that the EU is dependent on the US doesn't help the cause. There are definitely leaders in Europe who are aware of how much Europe depends on the US for defense, but this fact is not in anyway conducive to the larger political agenda and geopolitical outlook in Europe which is all about integration and European unity. In fact, support for the EU is very closely related to anti-Americanism. On reddit you'll see a lot of Europeans admit very openly that they support the EU because they see it as a rival to the US.

A lot of hate Europeans have for the US is not only a product of their ignorance of their dependence on the US, it's also because of their dependence on the US. Europeans take the US for granted and many of those that are aware of their dependence on the US still hate the US because playing second fiddle to the US stings their pride.

hey i'm from a country you need to zoom in to notice, with population of few million, and I know all about USA but ignorant Americans dont know anything about me!

It's like getting offended Drake doesn't know you even though you know him.

Remember, Americans are ignorant and stupid, right? Thus how are they supposed to know where all these countries are on a map? Much less what they're known for?

I mean, "Buffer Zone"? That requires rather a high knowledge of geopolitics to know that the US supports the area to block the Germans from linking up with the Russians. How are Americans supposed to know that? They can't even find their own country on a map and they're supposed to be understand deep political analysis? Who's supposed to know that Latin America came from Spain? I don't even know what "crisis" is supposed to mean.

It's just a crude, ugly stereotype of Americans, from people who despise us. The truth is, we don't care enough to even form opinions of different European regions. Name the latest European movie that anyone watched. The latest European rock star anyone ever heard of. The latest European tech startup that everyone is crazy about. I can't and neither can you.

It seems like the European countries are like America's crazy girlfriend. Saying how we always make things worse and that one day another big strong country is going to come along and sweep them off their feet. One day we get sick of it. We say we need some space and it's not you, it's us. We just need some time to work on ourself. Suddenly crazy gf countries start crying about how they can't live without us... But we know now. We were just a sugar daddy all along.

Great way to dodge out of making a reply to the points I made, which are unreplyable. Usually at this point I get reminded of slavery or racism, both of which Europeans never had. Or you could try Iraq. Either way, a weak non-response.

And the best part is, with America withdrawing and Europe not having an idiot to pay for its defense, that you demanded this. Screamed for it. And you're going to get it, good and hard.
