yeah, there is a lot to see and i didnt get the 'too touristy' vibe. it still had some of its old aura imo. interesting architecture, very eclectic, one can tell they had a 'we are doing this' attitude.

I was so excited to go there as a kid--only to find it was basically a giant tourist shop. Pretty much nothing to see except trinket vendors and snack shops.

That was decades ago, so dunno if there's miraculously been a change for the better...

I bet it's difficult to find affordable housing in that neighborhood.
