They were caught because they were dumb. Their fish should have weighed a certain amount, but were way overweight. I think at the time they were weighed, the leader was at 17 pounds. Their catch was 31 pounds. Stupid, greedy and stupid.

The sad part is that competitive fishing is full of cheaters. These were just particularly outrageous ones.
