One of the most interesting things I find about breeding birds, is that many chicks and mothers are interchangeable. Much more than you would think. Chickens, ducks, geese, quail, partridge, guinea fowl, just a number of birds I have experienced switching mothers and eggs/chicks around. Eggs first usually works best. Although I would put a large bird with small eggs. They will hatch them, but then crush the chicks. In your case specifically it appears you started out with an eye of providence, made a connection that it could maybe fit a stereotypical UFO in the shape, then decided the pupil needed something to do as well and so called it a "core" that "affects fundamental forces" in a completely arbitrary way that would let it fit in the shape you drew.
