Lol, funny, but IDK how much selection pressure is really happening in a country with a caste system where everyone breeds like rabbits.
This would be an incredibly stupid thing to select for if this was really happening, we have spellcheckers now.
The student was a Dalit, considered an 'untouchable' member of the lowest caste, i think thats why they were beaten for being incorrect, I imagine a student of a high caste would have been afforded more leniency.
The Indian obession with academic performance is real, but I think there are likely other factors involved in the treatment of this particulars student
