Each of my three bouts with the flu over the years were, by far, the sickest I've ever been. My first suspected go-around with Covid in January of 2019 was bad, but not as bad as any of the times I had the flu. Like you, I was fatigued with high fever and would get into coughing-spasm at night, almost losing my breath. I did not get the normal loose congestion, but could not get rid of the gunk in my lungs for weeks. My last bout of Covid in January of this year was three days of low-grade fever and a "tickle" in my throat. Better than almost any cold I've ever had.
