His statement is too ambiguous to really pin down to a single cause or to support any one side

Whatever he fought for, he got duped, because thats all gone now. Reminds me of this:

To start with, please quote General Patton supporting your position. I don't think he said any such thing. He never said that fighting the Germans was a mistake and he never said anything about Jews. What he did say was that after beating the Germans, America should have continued and driven the Soviet Union out of Eastern Europe. I agree with him on this.

All modern Americans across the political spectrum are moronic scum. On the Right, they are racist idiots with no understanding of history. I sincerely feel this 100-year-old veteran's pain.

I look forward to the source of the Patton quote so I can verify it. If verified, then I was wrong about this.

But I don't see anything by Patton about Jews. Modern scum misunderstand the Jewish problem because they think it is racial. The Nazis made the same mistake which is why they lost the war. The Jewish problem is cultural and religious, but modern scum are too stupid to understand culture or religion.

Later diary entries and letters to his wife reiterate this same conclusion. On August 31 he wrote: “Actually, the Germans are the only decent people left in Europe. It’s a choice between them and the Russians. I prefer the Germans.” And on September 2: “What we are doing is to destroy the only semi-modern state in Europe, so that Russia can swallow the whole.”

I mean all who identify as Americans. This doesn't include traditional Anabaptists, Orthodox Jews, and some Muslims. And modern scum shouldn't bow to me, I would much rather that they just die.
