The shooter was estranged from BOTH his parents. His mother, who was a junkie, said he was peaceful but afraid of his rage. Dad was pretty much out of the picture but still attached to the family. The cops went in and got their own children, then resisted other parents who wanted to do the same, waited outside for most of an hour because they were afraid of getting shot. The shooter was outside the school shooting for 12 minutes, and went in without resistance.
