Half of all people are below average intelligence. Those are the ones you usually get stuck with. You got lucky.

In most places almost everyone is a moron. In America, where I live, it is clear that non-morons who aren't sociopaths are pretty much extinct.

I am not sure. Being a non-moron may be a result of extreme stubbornness and high intelligence. Not being a sociopath may be because my father is from the Hungarian upper class and I was raised with those values with almost no exposure to jewish culture. I did know some people who would probably be non-sociopathic non-morons if they had made it, but they went crazy or killed themselves.
