What is also depressing me about it is that I got a job but won't be working till January. I don't want to get this job and start earning money only to not be able to buy anything literally with it at all, not even just a $50-100 basket of something.

What is the direct practical effect going to be on my lifestyle in particular (and by proxy, family, since I still live with parents and sister)?

Everyone will get poorer. But the main practical implication is to not hold cash or bonds. Savings should be invested in something that is safe from inflation like stocks or real estate.

Of course things are going to get worse, but I am not sure why anyone would want to quote Peter Shill on anything. He has made a living selling gold on the basis of impending collapse for years. He was bound to be right about the collapse sooner or later.

Fox is going to milk the shit out of this coming up on the 2022 and 2024 elections.
