Why does Youtube only hide the number of dislikes for logged in accounts, but makes the number visible if you simply log out or go incognito?

They might be doing some A/B testing. Roll the feature out to some users, not others, see how it affects engagement, etc. If you're not logged in, it's harder to use you for this testing.
