On a side note, I am interested in learning more about Islam. Any recommendations on where I should learn more about it? Also, any recommendations as to which translation of the Quran I should read?

I recommend studying the Hanafi fiqh. As for Quran translation be careful from those translated by Israel

I am interested in learning more about Islam.

They're kinda obviously the losers of the world. Look at predominantly Islamic areas, they don't all suck but a lot of them do suck. It's obviously failing.

My personal philosophy is that we can't know the unknowable, anyone who claims to is insane or deluded, and we should be respectful to a higher power in case one exists, although not quite in the way of Pascal's Gamble. Agnostic really.

All the religions, they're all just men establishing power. None of them are divine due to the corruptable nature of man.

On the plus side you never have to go to church.
