Do you mean that Amazon sucks ethically or that Amazon sucks as a service? Because I think that basically everything sucks these days, so I pretty much just use the least bad service/product that I can find.
What do you use for books instead of Amazon?

Local stores, libraries (there are ways to safely get library books indefinitely) and if those don't work, there are various reputable depository websites, and sites such as ebay and craiglist.
