I had thought about this some time ago. Yes there will be a civil war, and yes the Right will lose. And yes, Alaska makes perfect sense as a refuge. If I thought that the Right weren't complete morons then I would be advocating the Alaska solution right now. But since they are complete morons, I don't think they will have the brains to retreat to Alaska, so I don't think this will happen. I think the Right will simply be crushed.

If the Right will lose the civil war in the US why would Alaska, a part of US, be safe to retreat to ? I just don't get it.

Alaska isn't a safe choice, but it is probably the only plausible choice for secession by force. Alaska is much more physically defensible than any other part of America. The American Redoubt would have had a chance if it was in Alaska. What they failed to understand is that the end game can only be secession by war.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. That makes sense, I guess. Kinda like Taiwan was saved from communism by being physically separated from the rest of the China. Still, I think a kind of "loyalist" uprising would ensue from the left but they would probably not have the stomach to fight in icy woods so they would be defeated.
