Everyone else doubts themselves too much to rise to that level of power. Only a cocksure narcissist can have the unrelenting conviction required to fool themselves and the millions who look up to them.

Doubt and distraction. But there were many good souls thoughout antiquity and history, like Jesus. But what happens to these people? They are assassinated. Most do not live long enough and the majority of people are too apathetic to follow in their footsteps or even understand their words.

Also, what the hell was that fad where hundreds of thousands of people on the internet and elsewhere were shilling for Bill Gates as one of the most righteous persons on earth.

I remember arguing with someone at that time who thought Gates was awesome, I asked him why, and he couldn't give me an answer. I mean, yeah, he's got a lot of money and throws it around to causes and think tanks like it is candy, but he also probably has a lot in assets such as property. And he's a twice convicted predatory monopolist, but the guy is totally awesome and should be put into a meme for teenagers to share on twitter as an example of a good person who always does good things for the earths people.
