All of these fools that contaminate food by licking it, then putting it back. need to face serious jail time. They will enjoy working in the kitchen of their local penitentiary. Try licking someone else's food there and see what happens.

Fuck jail time, just shoot them. Filthy animals.

Cleanup in aisle 5.

Pretty sure there's a lot of lawyers out there who could get a "detainting the food supply" verdict... carries a similar sentence to poisoning the well.

It's a pretty serious violation of civility. I think jail time is appropriate, but I'm not sure how much.

20 years in prison does not make sense but compulsory toilet cleaning for one day a week for 5 years does.

Should she use her tongue? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

What why did she had Aids or something? or Ebola

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nope. It's stupid.

Even if she did, would you expect Ebola or AIDS to survive for an instant on the surface of a frozen tub of ice cream for who knows how long...
until someone purchases it...
and drives home with it to eat it many hours later...

Any biological contaminants would be frozen, and unable to grow to a harmful level.

I agree that it's disgusting and gross.

She's being charged with the legal equivalent of manslaughter for spoiling some ice cream.

People on this thread seem to think that she should have her life ruined over this. I disagree.

Yes, toiled cleaning for 5/10 days at a row can be good options.

Sure. Some community service.

Not prison where tax payer dollars are spent to ruin some poor foolish womans life.

Does anyone remember when Ariana Grande licked those donuts?

[–]sawboss[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Who's that?

[–]SierraKiloBravo 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

A type of coffee from Starbucks

[–]sawboss[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I didn't know. I've only been to Starbuck once, and their coffee is too expensive.

This is basically the penalty equivalent of manslaughter.

https://statelaws.findlaw.com/texas-law/texas-manslaughter-laws.html

Manslaughter in Texas is a second degree felony. This charge will typically carry a sentence of between two and twenty years in a state prison and/or a fine of no more than $10,000.

It's a shitty thing to do, but it's not even remotely close to the death of another person.

This is absurd.

It could kill people with a weak immune system.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

Could it? How?

[–]Acid 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Everyone has different bacteria. Especially the mouth of humans is full of bacteria, even more so than a dogs. Human bites have a high chance to infect the victim, which could lead to a deadly blood infection(sepsis). Normally most foreign bacteria gets dealt with by your immune system. But if it is compromised, even someone coughing in your general direction can make you really sick. Examples are pregnant woman, cancer patients after chemo, AIDS, old people etc.

Your friend, who beat cancer could die shortly after, from someone licking their food.

Can you provide any examples of people who died from consuming contaminated saliva that was frozen? Crucially frozen, cause they put it back in the freezer.

[–]Acid 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

No and I won't waste my time looking for one, cause it doesn't matter. Someone could be comin there a minute later and take that ice cream. Now I guess you want to know how long bacteria can survive under certain temperatures. Do your own research. What I said about bacteria and the immune system are things a doctor told us after the chemo of my grandad and correlated with what I learned in school and heard from other medical professionals. If you think that's bullshit, just do your own research to form your opinion. For me bacteria is no joke. A friend of mine died 3 years ago, after beating leukemia, from a bacterial infection, even though he wore a mask and gloves when outside. His immune system couldn't fight anything and he was also immune to antibiotics, cause of the therapy.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

So you believe that someone's life was in danger because some idiotic woman licked some ice cream?

[–]Acid 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Chances are slim, but yeah, it was an additional vector. The fact you think spreading bacteria is a joke, disturbs me.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

I do think it's a joke. I think that the risks are in the 0.000X% range. Literally trivial.

People have a better chance of getting struck by lightning.

[–]Acid 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

So I could jizz and spit in your food and you would be ok with that? Too trivial to care, I guess. I really hope people around you, never have their immune system fail them, cause you don't seem to really care about the weakest and sickest, who can be killed through such 'trivial' actions. Even if the chance to get struck by lightning is higher than to kill someone, contaminating others food isn't only gross as fuck, but also doesn't add anything positive. It's only a chance to fuck up, with nothing to gain and everything to lose.
