Do people not realise other sites exist? A government break-up could certainly make switching platforms easier, by enforcing compatibility with other platforms, but people should really move away on their own…

NO! That kicks out competition and gives even more power to powerful entities! I do not trust the government to do this any more than I trust Facebook (not at all)!
