If any politicians ran on a ticket of eliminating civil forfeiture, I would vote for them in a heartbeat.
It's one of the most absurd and corrupt laws in our country. There have been cases where a person is deemed innocent, but their property/money is kept by the police as it's held to a higher burden of proof.
