It's also a way to frighten the public into avoiding cash transactions.

Cash is more work for the banksters to monitor. Electronic transactions are useful tools to keep tabs on the public.

This is part of why I switched to cash only. The second part of your post, I mean. I'm not worried about cops. I talked my wife and my best friend into doing the same. It feels great to not rely on scumbags banks to do my shopping. I don't want businesses selling my shopping profile around the world anyway...
