If Ernst Röhm had shot Hitler and not the other way around, the Nazis would have won the war because it’s non-Gays who would have paid the price for their homophobia. Hitler sacrificed any and all moral credibility that day.

I do wonder if Röhm had been stupid enough to invade the Soviet Union. Hitler was sehr dumm, even with an IQ of 150+. Draw a rough triangle with one apex at Berlin, then Leningrad, then Stalingrad. He’d probably still tried it.

Hitler was dumb enough to think Stalin would not respond to a betrayal of the Molotov Ribbentrop pact. That alone justifies Russian retaliation against the entire West.
