    Reddit is not a publicly traded company so this means nothing. Its value to its owners is as a population control tool.

    I was surprised to be reminded yesterday that Reddit wants an IPO. At this point, it’s basically woke urban liberal Yahoo Answers, with pictures and porn. The magic, if you even want to call the old crap that, is long gone.

    I was thinking today that even ChatGPT in some ways displaces it - as useless as ChatGPT is in many ways, it won’t instantly delete your more mundane questions for “violating tEh rules” or reply with snarky gatekeeping. Since normal human beings only use Reddit for ELI5 style questions, that’s a serious shift.

    Reddit's value means nothing but it is a tool meant to cause confusion and they are sparing no expense to do what it is that they're doing. These people have boatloads of money they don't care about making money from Reddit reddit is a social engineering tool only
