Super old news, but when it came out, stating that Floyd's autopsy showed drugs in his system was a ban-able offense on several large subreddits, /r/news and /r/science even, for "spreading racist lies", despite the information being publicly accessible and verifiable. Mods just refused to respond.

Few? At least a decade. It started before GamerGate.

I've gotten permanently banned globally for stating scientific facts and in several subs for making jokes. If reality was like reddit. You would get the death penalty for farting in public.

A. No facial, oral mucosal, or conjunctival petechiae

Conjunctival petechiae comprise an important forensic indicator of mechanical compression of the jugular veins caused by external force to the neck [1].

I wonder if any reporter will be picking up on this little note?

EDIT: it came out in 2020, so I guess the answer is no.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know

This autopsy was released in 2020, the Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker testified that “subdual, restraint and neck compression” was the main cause for Floyd's death.

Readers should also note the autopsy this page is sourced from concluded Floyd's death was a homicide.

So fast to jump to the defense of BLM

Weird, eh?

That was based on the examiner's viewing of the cell phone video and not any physical evidence, right?

I don't know, just copy-pasted community note for those who won't bother to click. The most important thing imho is that this is not "breaking news", but news from 2020 misleadingly repackaged by Matt Wallace.

It was based on him being threatened or bribed.

How did Baker, the medical examiner, know that Floyd was restrained by the police? He looked at paperwork from the medical staff who treated Floyd, as well as the police reports and videos of the incident. His report says there were no injuries found that caused Floyd's death and he made his diagnosis based partly on information found outside of the physical examination of Floyd's body.

Ah, yes, the pinnacle of credibility: Reuters and NPR!

Also, a short writeup about the debate over cause of death.

That means they jailed the cops for nothing.

It was pretty obviously a show trial.

    [–]ihaveyourdress 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So many moments of that trial I was thinking, "is this real or a Law and Order episode?"

Old news on the police officer's bodycam you can see Floyd down his stash of drugs and eat it.

    [–]KyleIsThisTall 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

He also had several hundred dollars of fake $20 bills in the car that was smaller in total than the back seat of the SUV that he claimed he was claustrophobic to get in... which was the same tactic he tried almost exactly a year prior when he was caught on body cam during a sting downing an entire bottle of... opioids. That he stole from an elderly woman. Too bad they pumped his stomach and gave him activated charcoal.

"Duh" seems the correct response here.

This was known the week it happened. They threatened the initial forensic pathologist to retract the cause of death and allow the official document to be forged.
