As someone who has lived in the Middle East, Islamabad, Pakistan to be exact. Held captive for ten months by radicals as a small child, I can attest to the loudspeaker call to prayer, five fucking times a day. Quite the nuisance. Do you recall Obama’s book where he said it was “the sweetest sound”? I do. And I’m angry.

That must be quite the story, are you white? Do you live in MN?

There's no fucking comparison between church bells and goddamn loudspeakers.

I’m White and I live in rural Northern California. Not a lot of church bells where I am, but just the same, Jesus is Lord. Edit: my time in Islamabad is quite a story as you suggested. Although 44 years ago, it’s still quite fresh in my memory, especially the smell.

Oh, gotcha, I'm sure it's as bad in California with the more reasonable parts of the state being taken over by the major cities. I'm very intrigued by your story! If you feel like sharing.

Remind me about Islamabad some time and I’ll tell you a bit.
