Having lived in AKL for 2 years and have lived around the planet I can firmly say I have NEVER seen rain such as Kiwi has. Just pounding hour after hour like God's own wrath.

I have lived at length around USA and to 5 foreign countries and I have never seen rain like Kiwi ever anywhere else. It was just a comment as to why floods are washing away roads there now. Problem is some small hamlets are only served by that one road now they're entirely cut off except by a chopper.
