It only takes one plaintiff to bring the case to court, the subsequent ruling will be applied to the nation as a whole.

Right, but you must always remember:

The process is the punishment

If your church gets disbanded due to lack of funds because you couldn't defend against the lawsuit you would have won, you lost. If your church was part of the winning lawsuit, you still had to pay 3 years of taxes and almost went bankrupt while the case was wending its way through the courts. The devil doesn't just hate you and want you to lose. If you can be dramatically inconvenienced and/or forced to close, that's also good.
