If they hadn't outsourced for the last 80 years they would have over that time figured out how to automate at least half of the work and speed up the human portions by a few times as well. The technology is there but it takes years to get comfortable with the processes, then several more years to figure out how to automate, then several more years to figure out what works and what doesn't before real gains are made.
It will be a good 20 years before we can get to where we should be with automation.
But better late than never. We went from trying to get off of reliance on foreign oil to becoming reliant on foreign manufacturing. It was a globalist scam.
