No country in the forseeable future will ever launch a nuke. Period. Barring an overwhelmingly huge number of hypersonic nukes from an overwhelmingly huge number of launch sites, any country that did would cease to exist, which generally not the desired outcome of a conflict. Even if a country was successful in wiping out all of their initial enemies, the fallout and destruction from the nukes would leave them with an uninhabitable world filled with millions if not billions of survivors out for revenge against this rogue country. Nuclear war is simply not realistic.

Think about the unstable men that have these weapons under their control.... Do you trust them to do the right thing?

Just because people are "unstable" or ego driven does not mean they are suicidal or can't think ahead to the consequences of pushing the button. Nukes are a great deterrent for other nukes but are a very poor choice strategically for any other scenario except maybe fighting kaiju or blowing up a meteor
