I can't recall ever having bought Borden anything for decades. Store brand dairy from local sources is always cheaper and works as well. I hope they got out-competed by small guys but no detailed reasons are found in a couple articles I looked up about this.

Notice how the article does not give a reasonable explanation for why the US dairy plants are closing? But the article about France's dairy is clear: starving cows do not produce milk.
