Scenario one: I'm a shooter in a world where assault rifles are banned and people aren't carrying. I use two FN57's and clean house. If I'm a good enough shot I take double digits.

Scenario two: Nothing is banned, and I walk into a mall with an "AsSaUlT RiFlE" and I'm dropped immediately by a lawful gun owner.

I know what world I want to live in.

Scenario two: Lawful gun owner with handgun cannot get close enough to you so he misses or just wounds you. You take him out in a hail of high velocity rifle bullets and now you're REALLY mad.

Scenario three: Another lawful gun owner hears gunshots, comes running sees the first lawful gun owner shooting at someone. Believing they are witnessing a mass shooting, they pull their gun and shoot him. Others arrive and a shootout between lawful gunowners ensues because they all believe each other are active shooters.

Scenario four: Everything is banned except in the hands of well organised civilian malitias and police forces so no one walks into malls with assault rifles or handguns and none of the above happens.

            Yeah I'm seeing the "There's barely any mass shootings stopped by guns" meme types making the rounds and I'm just thinking, this is retarded.

            Sure we can make an argument that less guns floating around could potentially lead to less rampage killings in total, but your argument is that good guys with guns don't stop bad guys with guns? I guess when you consider the cops to be the bad guys. Literally every mass shooting ends when someone else with a gun either shoots or otherwise gets the guy to surrender.

            Not strictly true. Very rarely, attackers with guns are subdued by unarmed people. And hats off to heroes who manage to pull that off. But it's sure a lot easier if you have a gun too.

            Depends. You'd need a confusing circumstance and some heavy odds. Usually it's obvious who's the baddie. Usually folks can't shoot straight anyway. Add those up and you've got slim chances. I'd rather take my chance with fair and equal freedom than only let the illegal criminals with guns and the mafia government criminals with guns have weapons leaving the rest of us vulnerable to their predatory bullshit.

            N.B.: The state has a version of Constitutional Carry . . .but the mall prohibited being armed. Both these guys broke the retarded mall policy. Only one did it to kill innocent people.
