It's not clear that this is the doctor's fault though. She may have been going by a vague description like "he was a lot bigger than me, but not that old", or something.

I admit, I'm morbidly curious to know more about what all really happened in this case, but at the same time I think it's grotesque that it's been made into a spectacle.

Her mother had reported to the rapist to child services slightly more than a week before the abortion. While the child could have gotten an abortion in her own state, it seems very likely that they traveled to Indiana to hide the fact that she was raped by a pedo from the abortionist, avoiding mandatory reporting that would have involved the police immediately. Apparently they had a change of heart, because the child named the rapist almost a week later to police, which led to his arrest the within the next day.

I suspect a creepy family, where the parents allowed this predator to date and rape their daughter, until she came up pregnant and they were all going to get caught.
