They're also having power outages, I've read that all Sri Lankans don't have electricity at least 2-4 hours a day every day because they're having to do load shedding because they cannot produce enough electricity to meet demand.

    None of this happened until the food ran out. The government has been corrupt but the people could eat. Now they shifted to eco-friendly fertilizer and there's not food enough to go around.
