I don't think that symbol he uses is the same as what is being claimed here. I can see the similarity, but to claim it must have come from that is dumb. It is a very simple design, just like the super s that everyone draws in school. It has many origination events. Different people can create the same thing, and with simple desigs like this there is bound to be many things that look like it.
