I can readily sympathize with a female not wanting a homosexual male pretending-to-be-female in her bathroom space. There is good reason for male and female bathrooms.

This likely wasn't a gay man. Most trans-identified males are actually straight men who transitioned because they have a crossdressing fetish that is so out of control they have to crossdress 24/7. Just look at s/itsafetish -- you'll see ample evidence of fetishism in the trans community.
