The woke try to explain status and power in society through various identities and categories.

The fact is that really doesn't have any bearing on who holds power an status in the vast majority of relationships we have.

There is no way this incident could have happened the other way round. Smith holds such power and influence in the industry he can walk up on stage, hit a guy, go sit back down, have people comfort him, then go and accept and award and talk about wanting to spread love.

If this had happened the other way round Rock would have been carted out to a police van in 2 seconds flat.

The difference between them isn't race or money or identities, it is power.

You can't really explain how or why Smith has such power but he very much has it and everyone there last night knew it and respected it.

Do u know what a sucker punch is? Nobody i know respects a sucker punch. Why do you think Chris rock is laughing and looks so relaxed as Will walks towards him, and then is in utter shock at Will sucker punching him? Why is the audience all laughing along until they hear from Will's voice that what they just witnessed wasn't scripted? It's because not a single person there expects or desires to have such insane people among them. Doubt anybody was comforting him as much as they were wondering wtf is wrong with him and/or telling him that's not cool.

You can literally see this happening with your own eyes.

You might not like it but that's what happened.

If they were really horrified they would have dragged him out of there.

But what actually happened is they gave him an award and then a standing ovation.

Just saw celebs being asked after the oscars about the incident and they said they were confused AF. Which makes total sense since making fun of people at the oscars has been standard practice forever and this has never ever happened. People just didnt know how to react in the moment. The acceptance speech was hard to watch, so incoherent.

So what if people clapped at his speech? that's the normal thing to do, theyre just acting normally, and he's saying things that sound nice on the surface. The interesting bit is what will come next when people think about what actually happened. Will won't have a good public image after this at all, i dont see what's difficult to grasp about that. Why do you prefer your distorted unrealistic perspective instead, i wonder?

You can't hear what they're saying. The person who tweeted that is making up a narrative and you're acting like that made up narrative is fact. More to the point, a few celebs being on his side doesn't at all represent all celebs.
