He got away with murder and about a dozen other shady details went unexamined. The way I put it together was that the shooter was supposedly a "bodyguard" for the news crew, but what the news crew understood they actually needed was an antifa member who could coordinate between the news crew's need to produce news segments and antifa-BLM's need to protect their operational security. Antifa-BLM famously get violent with news crews who, despite producing only the fluffiest of whitewashed coverage of their activities, are seen as an uncontrolled information leak when they show up recording. So the news crew went directly to antifa, probably on reddit or Twitter, looking for a liaison. And then, to make everything kosher with payroll, arranged a "bodyguard" cover id with a local Pinkerton subcontractor.
