Syracuse University Punishes Student for Asking Man at Party if He is a Canadian Sex Offender. Her offense was that she caused him mental harm. It’s not often that college women get punished for anything they do to college men.

kind of a good move. Her doing that at a party hurts the guys chances at getting laid. Shouldn't allow that. Why was she asking him that? Did she have any evidence or just rumors? Spreading rumors that a guy is a sex offender should be illegal. If he is a registered sex offender that is public info that could be looked up, no need for rumors. I bet they investigated, found she did it out of spite and is a bitch, and rightly punished her for it.

Colleges have to suppress rape and sexual assault numbers on their campuses, otherwise parents will be less likely to write checks to send their daughters there. So, it is no surprise that this mental harm crap is being used this way. Schools keep people in an immature state, where they rely on authority to structure everything, and those that are kinda good at school, ie being contained in school's structure, go to college. There they're told "you're adults now, suddenly, by virtue of age, so you're free to do as you wish. The only adults on college campuses are teachers and cops at night. No shit things will go wrong.
